Midwest Living Review

This small museum is home to gleaming, vintage pumpers as well as a hands-on engine for kid use.

History fans and parents of young kids may want to stop at this small museum if they're already planning a trip to Nebraska City. Enthusiastic volunteers show off the professional displays of photos and artifacts specific to the town and the gleaming 1926 and 1938 Seagrave pumpers. Little ones will love donning mini firefighting helmets and climbing aboard the 1966 American LeFrance engine that's been turned into a dress-up and play structure. The tour ends with a safety lesson where kids crawl through an enclosed structure to simulate a darkened house.
