Midwest Living Review
If this review sounds a lot like the one about the Courtyard by Marriott across the street in Lincoln, that’s only because the two hotels are essentially the same—a dueling-banjos act of business-class hotels in the hottest part of Lincoln. The Hilton Garden is perfectly located in Lincoln’s brand-new (as of late 2013) arena district. The five-story hotel is about a block from the massive Pinnacle Bank Arena, which is home to the Cornhusker basketball teams, as well as big-name concerts featuring the likes of Pink, Elton John and Bon Jovi. Within a five-minute walk of the hotel are the Cornhuskers’ iconic Memorial Stadium, the stadium of the minor-league Lincoln Saltdogs (and Cornhusker baseball/softball teams), the Haymarket dining and shopping district, and the new Canopy Street entertainment district.
As with the Courtyard, we found that the Garden Inn delivers perfectly on what we’ve come to expect from this chain. Spacious rooms; contemporary decor; trendy, comfortable lobby; restaurant on-site. Matching the Courtyard blow for blow, the Garden Inn also has a fireside patio. The two hotels even share the same parking garage ($10/night for guests).
