Midwest Living Review
The Courtyard delivers everything you’d expect from a higher-end chain property with a perfect location in Lincoln’s brand-new (as of late 2013) arena district. The six-story hotel is about a block from the massive Pinnacle Bank Arena, which is home to the Cornhusker basketball teams, as well as big-name concerts featuring the likes of Pink, Elton John and Bon Jovi. Within a five-minute walk of the hotel are the Cornhuskers’ iconic Memorial Stadium, the stadium of the minor-league Lincoln Saltdogs (and Cornhusker baseball/softball teams), the Haymarket dining and shopping district, and the new Canopy Street entertainment district.
On our visit shortly after the Courtyard opened, we found it on par with what we’ve come to expect from this chain. Rooms are spacious, perfectly kept, and decorated in current styles that get the subtleties right with touches like accent lighting and pussy willows in vases. The lobby includes a small bistro with a limited menu at breakfast and dinner, plus Starbucks coffee (food is not included with the room fee) and relaxing spots for conversation. A trendy firepit outside offers a great hangout in warm weather.
