Midwest Living Review
The Sutter Deli menu looks promising on paper, with sandwiches ($5.95), pizzas, chicken salad and cookies ($1.25). Sadly, the food is lackluster and the staff needs a serious refresher course in the rules of basic hygiene.
The flavors of the turkey club sandwich, grilled ham and cheese, and grilled cheese were bland and nondescript. And we just couldn't get past the actions of the women preparing the food in front of us: coughing openly, wiping food-soiled hands down the front of their jeans and worse. Poorly executed Tuscan-style decor and dirty bathrooms don’t help matters. Next to the counter is a strangely painted vintage outdoor garbage can, which the staff proceeded to empty in front of us as we were eating. Sorry, Sutter Deli. We won’t be back.
