Midwest Living Review
It’s worth squeezing into the tiny Sloan and Themis Boutique showroom to take a look around this jewelry store located in the former front hall of a vintage building in downtown Cape Girardeau. Petite owner and designer Claire Bruce, who holds an engineering degree from Vanderbilt University, seems a perfect fit for a sales area that’s perhaps 50 feet long and 6 feet wide.
Although in an old building, there’s no hint of dinginess. An artful barrel-vaulte ceiling complements the collection of original jewelry—some new, some made from attractive older items that have been repurposed or given new accents. The quality of the pieces goes to explain how a store so small in physical presence is already becoming such a big hit on the Internet.
The Sloan and Themis storefront is open Thursday through Sunday only; plan visits accordingly.
