At first glance, Moss looks like a typical boutique, with skinny jeans and sleeveless tops on thin mannequins. Everything is super cute, but what makes this shop special is that many of the items are designed and made in-house (there's a custom sewing and printing studio in the back). Shop owner is fashion designer Nicole Moss, and many of her pieces are available here, but her employees add their own artistry to the items for sale. Popular items include Gatsby-style knit hats with handmade feathered pins, beaded sashes to drape over jeans, and a signature scarf purse (you can change the bag's look by just buying a new silk scarf to cover it with). Moss also sells casual but trendy-looking St. Charles T-shirts ($24). The smaller items are quite affordable -- we snagged a pair of knit mittens for less than $20 -- but of course the designer pieces are splurges.
