Midwest Living Review
Jim Rogers is a concessionaire with the park. He and his wife run the store, the dining lodge and the cabins. His fishing school is well-known throughout the area, and he brags that he can get anyone to catch a fish in these streams within 30 minutes. He is helpful and generous in his praise as he teaches.Jim has an instructional area in the park store, where he shows videos, does small demonstrations and teaches fly tying. All of the paraphernalia you need for a few hours or few days on the river is available here, including licenses, waders and lures. A scale outside the store means you can have bragging rights honestly. Serious trout fishermen here are on the water at 6 a.m. when the bells ring, sounding the start of the fishing day. That's when Jim prefers to teach, but if you prefer to sleep in, he'll work with you whatever time of day you prefer. We liked getting up early to soak in the beauty of mist on the river.
