Midwest Living Review
Baxter's Lakeside Grille is a popular Lake Ozark hotspot for special-occasion meals thanks to its good food and lovely water views. Logically, this place gets quite busy during the summer season. The dining room, bar area and a happening patio scene all overlook the lake just beyond. Calling ahead (or using the online reservation system) is a smart idea, especially when you can snag a table by the window.
The lunch and dinner menus detail well-prepared American fare: soups, salads, seafood and a selection of 30-day aged steaks. The Cajun shrimp pasta with andouille sausage and roasted peppers in a spicy cream sauce ($20.99) makes a satisfying choice, but the walnut-crusted walleye with apple bourbon butter ($26.99) and the house specialty Baxter’s meat loaf with smashed potatoes ($15.99) also look and sound mighty tempting.
Baxter’s is open year-round; closed on Mondays.
