Midwest Living Review
On Saturdays and Sundays, the Farmhouse in the River Market area serves brunch, and Saturday is quickly becoming their busiest day of the week, partly due to the farmers market. Another reason is the wholesome, natural food. On the huge blackboard in the dining area is a thank-you to all the farmers who contributed to the current week's menu. On Monday through Friday, the Farmhouse serves lunch (soups, sandwiches, salads); dinner is served Wednesday through Saturday. Fresh, comforting foods are presented very simply; don't expect ultra fancy here. The restaurant is housed in a renovated warehouse with high ceilings, exposed brick walls and a new wooden floor. Diners (a nice cross-section) can eat at two indoor dining areas or on the patio. Foods you might find on the brunch menu include Missouri ham, cheesy grits, two Eggs, biscuit and pear butter ($8); 3-egg omelet with kale, gruyere, bacon and caramelized onion ($5.50); or French toast with walnuts, caramelized apple and honey-maple syrup ($7.50). Lunches include dishes like fresh salads ($5$8), and sandwiches such as corned beef ($8.75) and chicken club ($8.25).
