Midwest Living Review

Steve Slack
This enormous Irish pub offers a traditional, classy take on the food and the fun that the Emerald Isle is famous for.

Clocking in at around 10,000 square feet, this is the second outpost of Raglan Road. The original is in Orlando, Florida, near Disney World, and that should give you an idea of what to expect: plenty of traditional touches tweaked for the comfort of 21st-century guests. The Kansas City building, in the entertainment-center Power & Light District downtown, is largely constructed from salvaged parts of pubs in Ireland, and the menu includes "updated" Irish cuisine, including items like Colpucinno soup (made from potato, cabbage and bacon), Irish goat cheese terrine and apricot and almond bangers, plus a contemporary take on shepherd's pie and a variety of whiskey-glazed meats. Dinner for two will run you $30 to $40. And that includes entertainment--Irish music is performed on Raglan Road's stage nightly, and sometimes a lass even jumps up on a table for a little toe-dancing.
