Midwest Living Review
You can expect just the right amount of pampering at the recently renovated Raphael, from the moment the valet takes your keys until the end of the day, when you discover the chocolate chip cookies that accompany the turndown service. Rooms feature an elegant English manor sensibility with attractively warm, inviting tones. Spacious deluxe suites won't leave you feeling cramped. Perhaps best of all, you're right in the middle of the action if you want to check out the high-end shops, eateries and entertainment at Country Club Plaza. Once you've arrived, there's no need to drive, especially given the European-style architecture and other gorgeous scenery lining the streets. Start or end your activities with a quick nip in Chaz on the Plaza, The Raphael's hip, classy lounge and restaurant. And if you need more options, you're just a few miles from the Power & Light District, historic Westport and much of what Kansas City has to offer. The Raphael does have a small gym, but just FYI: There's no swimming pool. Rooms start at $179.
