Midwest Living Review
Don't get confused: This modern high-rise hotel stands in KC's Power and Light District, not at the famed Crown Center about a mile south. But that doesn't mean it's not well-situated. It sits across the street from the convention center and within walking distance of all the Power and Light restaurants, theaters and bars, as well as the Sprint Center and the jaw-dropping Kauffman Center for the Performing Arts.
The hotel isn't just about location, though. Its sleek lobby features a roomy Starbucks, a restaurant and a bar. The recently updated rooms offer sweeping city views and free wireless Internet. You'll pay $13 per night for parking, which is in keeping with other downtown hotels. Our only complaint was that when we stopped into our room at 5:30 p.m. on a Saturday, it still hadn't received maid service. But just as we were about to call the front desk, a manager knocked on our door to check on our room, then promptly sent up his crew. Rates from $143.
