Midwest Living Review
Gorgeous OakGlenn occupies the top of a tall bluff that affords truly magnificent views of the Missouri River. The winery's original owner was local wine legend George Husmann, who not only was a founding father of Missouri viticulture but also went on to help develop California's grape industry. Current owners Glenn and Carolyn Warnebold honor his memory by maintaining a few rows of Norton grapes that Husmann had planted and by displaying various folk art-style images of him in and around the recently constructed George Husmann Wine Pavilion. The George Husmann Wine Pavilion includes the tasting room/gift shop selling some cheeses and snacks and a wide porch where visitors can sit at a table and take in the panoramic view. Just below the pavilion is an open-air terrace with more tables and more view. On weekends between May and October, local bands (swing to country) perform on the terrace. We were late in the season to catch a band but imagine this would be an absolutely ideal spot to dance and drink some wine.
