Kunstlerhaus is a fascinating shop full of handmade and original crafts from more than 40 area artisans. Though unassuming from the outside, the shop is spacious, bright and appears to have studio space in the rear for the featured artists. Works for sale include sculptures, textile art, oil and pencil paintings, baskets, rugs, graphics, scroll saw carving, photography, woodworking, handbags and ceramics, as well as a selection of Native American art, pottery and jewelry. Prices are reasonable, and budget-minded shoppers will appreciate the small items such as ornaments and handmade greeting cards. The shop owners do a nice job of promoting artists as individuals, displaying their brochures and business cards. Events and receptions throughout the year offer visitors the chance to meet some of these artists as well.
