Midwest Living Review
A-list celebrities abound at Branson's Hollywood Wax Museum, but don't bother talking to 'em--they're a bunch of stiffs. Do feel free, though, to stop and get your picture taken with Leonardo DiCaprio, Hugh Hefner, Charlie's Angels, and Johnny Depp (whom, incidentally, you can "marry" in a ceremony at the end of your tour). The approximately 50 figures have placards if you're interested in reading them; otherwise, it'll take you maybe 20 minutes to walk through the whole place. Consider getting package tickets for Hannah's Maze of Mirrors and possibly the Castle of Chaos "5-D" adventure next door, too. Unless you're claustrophic (in which case, avoid it), the maze will trip you out. It's not a large space--you'll hear other visitors talking as you make your way through--but it'll play with your sense of orientation, making it tricky to get out. In the castle, you'll take a seat in a theater with screens on all sides, don your glasses, wield a pistol, and take aim as you start to spin and the forces of evil descend upon you. Air jets let you feel it as monsters stream past you. Keep in mind before you spend your money that the ride is only three to four minutes long, and the execution may not be as great as the concept. Also, it could be scary for kids.
