Midwest Living Review
Pay attention to the name -- Acoustic Cafe -- because this is definitely more cafe than coffeehouse. This isn't to say you can't get coffee here. You can. There are a lot of varieties, from blends to specialty drinks. And it's good stuff. But the restaurant doesn't offer much in the way of breakfast items; just a handful of muffins, scones, bagels and cinnamon rolls are available. Its menu focuses instead on lunchtime fare: soups, sandwiches, pita pockets, hoagies. Locals affirm the place really hums on weekend afternoons, when college kids head there for the chili and free Wi-Fi.As its name implies, the Acoustic Cafe's niche is music. There are bands every Friday and Saturday night from 8 to 10:30 p.m. -- with no cover charge -- and you're able to order beer and wine along with coffee. Whether you're coming for your morning jolt of java or tunes and brews in the evening, you'll be satisfied with what you find.
