Midwest Living Review
Unfortunately, the butternut squash ravioli we sampled at The Kitchen is no longer available, but it was so gosh-darned good, we're confident that anything served here will be delicious. The entire menu, from crab cake to tagliatelle to pork belly, is thoughtfully selected with a nod to upscale comfort food. Dining here feels a little bit like slipping inside someone's updated kitchen, all copper and buttery, with intimate small, high-backed booths and bright walls lined with windows. The layout is wide open with a square bar at the center so you feel at home amidst the bustle. It's a modern, trendy vibe, which doesn't quite fit with its surroundings inside Stillwater's Grand Garage. The Grand Garage is structured to feel like a walk down old cobblestone streets, with faux windows and streetlights and shops. By virtue of the layout one slows down, deliberately winds and meanders until reaching the Kitchen (in back and upstairs), and it doesn't really matter that you're slipping between two worlds, as they're both worthwhile destinations. Note: The Kitchen is closed Sundays.
