Midwest Living Review
There's just something about paper -- thick, rich, pulpy, creamy paper -- that makes Mara-Mi a kind of literary candy store for papyrus-o-philes like us. The store is divided into two parts: stationery, custom invitations, file folders, desktop supplies, pens, journals, wrapping paper and gift items up front, and a veritable scrapbooker's haven in back. Located on the main drag and housed in a former bank, the old vault has been creatively converted to a children's room where kids keep occupied and safe (ha!) with a TV, table and chairs, chalkboard, and bookshelf full of free-for-all scrap paper and art supplies. It's a place packed with myriad versions of the perfect gift, but only if you're willing to put your parchment cravings aside.
