Midwest Living Review
The wafting scent of rich European-style chocolates is enough to lure anyone into this University Square shop. Glass cases tempt shoppers with cream- and nut-filled bonbons, truffles, bars and other dark-chocolate treats, plus a variety of other imported cookies and candies. Some flavors won't appeal to all American palettes. Tastes like licorice and marzipan aren't as popular here as they are across the pond, but for those who like dark, bittersweet chocolates and strong coffees, this is a find. Pretty packaging makes Stam's a good choice for gifts. Treat yourself to one of Stam's array of unusually flavored sorbets and gelatos, available by the cup or cone, including crme brulee gelato and an explosively tangy pink grapefruit sorbet. The Rochester store is one of Stam's seven locations in the Midwest.
