Midwest Living Review

Located in the heart of downtown Minneapolis, the towering Marquette Hotel makes for a comfortable stay with affordable rates, just becareful of hidden fees.

The Marquette is a nice, comfortable and affordable lodging option in downtown Minneapolis. It's a Hilton property, so you'll have all the comforts (and, on the flip side, all the generic ambience) of a corporate hotel. The rooms are large, clean and modern with an affordable price to boot. Just be wary of the extra fees lurking around every corner. The spacious rooms include flat-screen TVs, comfortable beds, a glass-and-tile shower with a rain showerhead, and a large bathroom vanity with plenty of room to apply makeup or shave before going out on the town. The rooms are blissfully quiet, too, although with a wide expanse of windows in many rooms, you may hear the common noises of downtown areas like sirens and people coming out after bar closing at 2 am. The staff of The Marquette is friendly and helpful, especially the concierge, who is happy to help with directions, restaurant suggestions and anything else you may need to inquire about. However, be aware of extra charges that can easily increase your final bill, including parking, the in-room mini bar, in-room Internet access (although the internet is free in the third-floor business center and the lobby), and all phone calls, even local. The fees are annoying, but not annoying enough to keep us from returning.
