Every family member can find fun at this comfortable cabin resort in the Root River Valley.

Bring the kids, grandparents, aunts and uncles, cousins -- heck, even bring the second cousins --for a family vacation at Cedar Valley Resort. The biggest cabin can accommodate 40 people! And there's literally something for everyone to do. The resort offers clean, modern, spacious cabins with satellite TVs and full kitchens. (But bring your own towels and soaps!) The resort grounds include a huge grassy area for lawn games and a big timber jungle gym, all within easy view of the cabins for watchful parents. The Root River State Trail runs through the resort grounds, offering easy access for bike rides. And the Root River runs by the resort, too, so families can go trout fishing or take a lazy tube or canoe ride. The resort will outfit all your adventures and offers shuttle service upriver. Lanesboro is just a short drive or bike ride away, with charming shops, restaurants, theaters and art galleries. Or just stay at the resort and sit around your personal fire pit while enjoying the beauty of the bluff country. Nine cabins offer modern amenities and spacious accommodations, from three to eight bedrooms (ranging from $360 to $1,040 per night in peak summer season). But be sure to plan ahead if you want to book a stay -- summer weekends at Cedar Valley Resort fill up a year in advance.
