Midwest Living Review
Full of whimsical surprises, Zaiser’s is an ideal destination for fashion and kitchen queens and a great place to shop for kids' gifts. Giggles often erupt from the corners of the boutique as customers discover its quirkier items. Think Neanderthal-shape erasers, staplers that look like fish, and rubber boots resembling ones a rodeo-ready cowboy woudl wear. The eclectic (to say the least) inventory merges old-school tricks and gags like hillbilly teeth and soap-flavor candy with old-school marble sets, pirate costumes, bubbling lava lamps and colorful sock puppets.
Most of the store is decidedly grown-up though. The front section displays stylish kitchen linens, drink accessories, and cooking and baking gear. Fancy cocktail shakers sit near mango and black raspberry syrups to inspire adult beverage recipes. Meanwhile, ceramic deer salt-and-pepper shakers kiss on the shelves, and white elephants provide a new twist on the usual cow-theme coffee creamers. Selections of teas and jams give way to portable water bottles (including one designed for dogs) and practical household items such as fabric wet bags for soggy swimsuits and laundry. As if that’s not enough, there are also fragrant toiletries, bags and purses, beaded jewelry and high-end footwear to browse.
