Midwest Living Review
The wind will definitely be ripping through your hair on the exciting tours offered by Riptide Ride. The boat might not look too speedy when it's tied up to the dock, but don't let the friendly yellow color scheme fool you. The 28-foot inflatable boat is equipped with 700-horsepower twin-jet propelled engines, so believe us when we say it's a thrilling ride. The younger ones weren't the only ones screaming with every turn. The natural sights are definitely a must-see, and if you're pressed for time, Riptide Ride won't waste a second with their speedy tours. One of the two offered tours is the 30-minute Rip Around the Bay that focuses on hair-raising speed, tricky turns and wild spins. The other tour is longer and more relaxing: The 1-1/2 hour Grand Island 360 circles the island and includes a narrated tour of the sites. Weather effects the tour; for instance, thick fog means a slower pace and a route that's closer to shore. Rip tickets are $24, kids 3-12 $20; the 360 tour costs $38 and $34 (no kids under age 3).
