Midwest Living Review
Guests at the Homestead Resort can use the on-site Spa Amira, which opened in 2008, year-round. The spa, whose name means Persian princess, is located on a bluff overlooking the lake. The spa is small -- the little building offers three treatment rooms -- but it has an airy and window-filled reception area that drinks in those Lake Michigan views. What's great about the spa is not the building's physical structure, amenities or atmosphere, but the site where it's located. Carefully placed chairs and lounges allow spa guests to relax, listen to the wind rushing through nearby trees, and admire the lake view, providing a relaxing and Zen-like atmosphere. A hammock hangs in the wooded area next to the spa; guests who pay for any kind of service can use the entire outdoor area all day long.
