Midwest Living Review
This winery is worth a stop for the architecture alone. A turn-of-the-century white Amish barn has been beautifully restored as the focal point of this busy winery, brewery and distillery. Inside the round barn are two circular tasting bars that pour as many as five wines, a dessert wine and DiVine grape vodka. You have to pay for a souvenir wine glass -- it costs $2.50 -- but you can return with your glass in the future for free tastings. (The wine glass will also get you free tastings at a sister winery, Free Run Cellars in Berrien Springs.) To date, Round Barn is the only estate-bottled vodka in the United States. Late in the summer of 2010, Round Barn also began producing rum and bourbon. In a nearby red barn, visitors can sample Round Barn's beers, including Summer Wheat, Amber Ale and Cocoa Stout. Outside, terraced patios invite visitors to settle in for another drink and plates of hors d'oeuvres. Round Barn also offers make-your-own-wine packages and has plenty of special events, from food and wine weekends to live music.
