Would like to submit a calendar item for September 17 in Ann Arbor: Ann Arbor Old West Side Homes Tour, September 17, noon-5:00 p.m. Advance tickets $10, can be purchased until 3:00 p.m. Saturday, September 16, at Washtenaw Dairy, Argus Farm Stop, Downtown Home & Garden, Nicola’s Books, and Norton’s Flowers & Gifts in Ann Arbor. Day of tour, $12 tickets sold 11:45-4:30 at The Ann Arbor Community of Christ Church, 520 West Jefferson Street, Ann Arbor. All tickets for seniors 65+ are $8. No children under 12, shoes, photography or backpacks. Shuttle bus available. Featuring five homes and two businesses, the tour highlights the diverse homes, ranging from pre-Civil War to new, of the Old West Side Historic District and surrounding neighborhoods. It showcases creative and respectful updating of older homes, newer structures designed to be compatible with historic surroundings, effective use of small spaces, and adaptive reuse of commercial buildings.
