Midwest Living Review
This relatively new resort on New Buffalo's harbor is one of our favorite places to stay in southwest Michigan's Harbor Country. The sleek, two-story building wraps around a corner of the harbor, and all of the 300 or so rooms look directly onto the boat docks. With your balcony's sliding door open, you can listen to their clanging bells all night. The rooms feature a minimalist, Scandinavian-inspired design. The walls generally are white, and the furniture features white upholstery and metal edges. Yachtlike reading lights flank the inviting platform beds. The roomy baths include a glass walk-in shower, a large tub and fixtures straight from the latest showroom catalogs. The hotel includes the respected Bentwood Tavern restaurant, an indoor pool and free bikes that guests can use to cruise around town. Downtown New Buffalo is within walking distance for energetic guests, or about a three-minute drive. New Buffalo's excellent city beach is about a five-minute drive. For a spotless, relaxing lodging that offers the soothing rhythm of harbor life, we'll come back to the Marina Grand every time.
