Midwest Living Review
It's easy to while away an afternoon or evening at this 100-year-old former general store and ice cream parlor. The Islander is named for a steam boat that used to bring passengers to the Les Cheneaux Islands back in the 1800s. These days, patrons enjoy live music, drinks and great food, whether they prefer dining outside on the lighted deck overlooking the marina or inside amid nautical photos and memorabilia. Specials vary, and include $1 tacos, $4 bloody marys and 50-cent wings, but we like the Islander Burger ($8.99). it's loaded with bacon, mushrooms, Swiss and American cheese, olives, lettuce and tomatoes -- served fresh and fast.
