Inn at the League

Ann Arbor is home to a world-class university, a strong arts culture and more sustainable dining than anyone can imagine. Sadly, Ann Arbor is also lodging challenged. This is where the inn, located within the redbrick Michigan League, a large administrative building with meeting and event spaces, comes in. Located next to the Hill Auditorium, home to numerous theatrical and musical events, as well as shopping and dining, the inn cannot be beaten for convenience. 

Though not exactly sleek or particularly attractive, the 21 rooms are clean, comfortable and, most importantly for this area, reasonably priced. Suites are a particularly good value; they include two sofa beds, a queen bed, numerous large chairs and sofas, a dining table and small refrigerator. Bathrooms are sparkling clean with lots of towels and toiletries. Coffee is served in the hall, and fast-food restaurants and a cafe are on the lower floors. Views are of brick paths, fountains and flowery courtyards, but inside it's all academia—walnut paneling, shiny slate floors and, in a nod to Michigan, Pewabic tile throughout.

Rooms include breakfast vouchers, private baths and typical amenities; they book fast because of football games, art fairs, and the numerous students, faculty and artists that visit. From $135.
