Midwest Living Review
The RiverWalk feels like the city's beautiful big front yard, providing easy access to the waterfront with pathways, plazas, covered pavilions, harbors, parks and other green spaces. The most prominent section of the walkway stretches from Hart Plaza east; at Rivard Plaza, there's a carousel with Great Lakes animals, a new bike rental operation (Wheelhouse Detroit), fountains, a wetlands demonstration area and a cafe in the summer. The walkway passes GM's massive Renaissance Center and leads to the Milliken harbor and marina, the former Tricentennial State Park. The Dequindre Cut GreenWay section heads north to the Eastern Market. Other sections are farther east and feel a bit more isolated -- something we're sure won't be the case when the entire RiverWalk is complete.
