Eldred, Bluffdale Vacation Farm Bill and Lindy Hobson's 320-acre spread 70 miles north of St. Louis is a great place to bring kids. Sullivan, Little House on the Prairie Betty Grable, Eve Arden and Cesar Romero stayed at this 1890 homestead, converted into an elaborately-decorated inn with five rooms (all with private bath). Tonica, Kishauwau on the Vermillion Rowdy squirrels make almost the only noise you hear at this former Boy Scout camp in north-central Illinois.
