Midwest Living Review
Sporting Park – home to Major League Soccer’s Sporting Kansas City – offers comfort, excitement, and a digital, forward thinking sports stadium. In addition to soccer games, the $200 million stadium that opened in June 2011, holds concerts and special events, and is easily accessible off I-70 and I-435 next to the Kansas Speedway and Legends shopping area.
While Sporting Park is a digital and technological dream for sports fans – with the largest HD video board in the world, measuring 24 feet by 84 feet, located above the South Stand, wi-fi available throughout the stadium, and a digital fan experience for mobile users from Sporting Innovations – the park is also user-friendly with wide walkways, easy to navigate (and not steep!) stairways, and arching canopies over all seats. Although the adjacent parking lots to the stadium fill up fast and some parking spots are a bit of a walk to Sporting Park, there are shuttle buses available. And don’t forget that parking is free!
Quite possibly the best part about Sporting Park is the highlight on children before each Sporting Kansas City home match. In conjunction with The Victory Project (donations can be made at the stadium), a Kansas City-based foundation that address the needs of children undergoing cancer treatment, Sporting invite a guest and their family to enjoy a game from Sporting Park's Victory Suite.
A venue that’s comfortable and charitable? Definitely worth a visit.
