Midwest Living Review
The classy Royal Amsterdam Hotel is ideally sited for Pella sightseers, easy to find just southeast of the town square. The block surrounding the establishment is attractive with a theatre, charming local shops and picturesque brick walkways. The free hotel parking takes a little work to find but is close enough to be convenient, and the upscale pedestrian area complete with molengracht (mill canal) you’ll stroll through on the way to check in enhances Pella’s Dutch vibe.
The two-story hotel holds 38 guest rooms in varying sizes. The suites aren’t terribly modern, but they are spacious with comfortable beds, Jacuzzi tubs and separate sitting areas. Rooms directly over the lobby can get a little noisy during busy seasons, and there aren’t any kids amenities or a pool, making the Royal Amsterdam better suited for adults-only stays. The basic Continental breakfast of toast, bagels, cereal and fruit is fine; although we were a little disappointed not to see at least one hot item among the offerings.
Rooms and suites run a reasonable $99 to $139.
