Midwest Living Review
With five Iowa locations, Smokey Row is more than just a coffee shop. Toward the back of the Pella store, customers will find an old-fashioned soda fountain where phosphates and flavored Cokes are served just like they were in the 1950s. The retro countertops, checkerboard tables, red chairs and wall furnishings invoke a sense of nostalgia among diners of a certain age.
Servers are friendly but don’t seem to get in much of a hurry. The coffee is strong and hot, with prices ranging from $1.90 for a standard medium cup to $4.25 for designer lattes and mochas; cold beverages and ice cream treats run $1.55 to $4.99. Smokey Row also whips up basic coffee shop breakfast and lunch fare along the lines of quiche, bagels, muffins, salads and sandwiches.
