Midwest Living Review
With sleek decor and distinctive modern style elements throughout, hotelVetro is an exemplary ode to contemporary design. Our stay was so comfortable and impressive that we wanted to move in. The lobby calls to mind an art gallery, and guest rooms (rates start at $139) are like small studio apartments, with trendy concrete floors, large plasma televisions, spacious bathrooms and even kitchenettes that include a medium-sized refrigerator, microwave, stove, sink and, believe it or not, a dishwasher.
The luxurious pillow-top beds were crisp, white linens and fluffy pillows; bathrooms are immaculately clean and modern with Kohler fixtures, a freestanding glass shower and a deep bathtub that just begs for bubbles. Two large armoires hold clothes, and a chaise lounge encourages visitors to kick back and relax. On-site laundry and dry cleaning are available, and guests are welcome to use the Iowa City Fitness Center next door or attend a yoga class in a studio on the second floor ($15). With an upscale restaurant in the lobby and a wine bar nearby, there’s almost no need to leave the building.
