This is the first North Dakota scenic drive to be designated as a national byway. It stretches 63 miles along the Sheyenne River Valley from Baldhill Dam to Lisbon. It also lends to a breathtaking fall color drive.

Features along the drive include scenic farmsteads, Fort Ransom State Park, Valley City bridges, and the Sheyenne National Grassland.
