The Homespun Country Inn

Former Chicago residents have operated this comfortable five-bedroom, Queen Anne B&B for more than 15 years. Original architectural features from the inn's 1902 construction include stained- and leaded-glass windows and honey-color woodwork. Four of the inn's guest rooms are on the second floor, and the fifth is in the attic—details to be aware of if you have problems going up and down stairs. Nearby active railroad tracks are a bit of a distraction; although guest rooms have ear plugs to ensure with a quiet night's sleep. Other nice touches in each room include antique furnishings, lots of cozy quilts, a TV/VCR/DVD combo, wireless Internet service and a flashlight. Each room has a private bath. A porch swing makes a nice spot  to watch horse-drawn carriages clop past.
