Midwest Living Review
Holiday World Theme Park and Splashin' Safari is a combination amusement and water park best known for its water slides and trend-setting roller coasters like Thunderbird, the first launched "wing" coaster in the country. During the summer months, the water park is particularly packed, so be prepared for lots of crowds. With that said, there's plenty about this adventure land that makes it a great deal for the entire family, including free parking, Wi-Fi, soft drinks, and sunscreen in the park. Food is even reasonably priced! The theme park features four main holidays -- 4th of July, Thanksgiving, Halloween and Christmas. Within each area, the restaurants, shops and music in each area incorporate that theme. For example, in the Christmas area, you can visit Santa and have your picture taken with him and dine in Mrs. Klaus' Kitchen. There's also a kiddie ride area called Rudolph's Reindeer Ranch, which features five main rides with little to no waiting. Splashin' Safari scored above average in terms of size, cleanliness and variety of water activities. We particularly loved that there are more than a dozen different water slides to accommodate all age groups. The only downside: In the summer, it can get overcrowded making it difficult to keep track of your kids or really enjoy yourself. All in all, the park is a great destination if you're up for the crowds. We recommend you make it a two-day trip so you have plenty of time to take in all the park has to offer without burning you or your family out.
