Midwest Living Review
Serving four-generation-strong recipes, the Rulli family continues to please patrons with homemade pastas and oven-baked pizzas at this casual Italian restaurant/carry-out pizza parlor located in the Northridge strip mall.
Inside, red leather booths line the brick and stucco walls. A small bar and buffet line filled with salads, pastas and pizza occupy the back half of the restaurant, and piped-in swing-era music provides fun ambience.
Menu choices include traditional Italian veal, chicken, seafood and pasta dishes, along with vegetarian options and kids’ meals. Pastas come topped with a choice of four homemade sauces (all Rulli family recipes, of course). Cheese lovers should strongly consider the stuffed ricotta shells ($11) or perhaps the sausage lasagna ($12), but don’t wait too long to put in an order; the kitchen has been known to run out. Entrees are accompanied by iceberg lettuce salad topped with green pepper, red onion, mushrooms and pepperoni. A glass of the house Chianti ($5) is a nice complement to any meal. Pizzas run from $17 for a 12-inch small to $19 for an 18-inch large.
