Midwest Living Review
Prairie Acres Farm Market might be the cutest little market in Indiana. Decorated with flowers, country knickknacks and vintage metal signs, the open-air market offers a bounty of locally grown produce, including berries, corn, tomatoes, peppers and 18 varieties of watermelon. Inside, you'll find a nice selection of down-home decor and gifts, such as baked goods, jams and jellies, and soup mixes. The ice cream counter offers cones and milk shakes, or you can splurge on homemade baked goods and fudge in flavors like peanut butter cup. Take a break in the little dining area, where no two tables are alike, or stroll next door to the McKinley Market, a smaller market with outstanding peaches. The market is open seasonally from June 1 to December 24. It's one of many farm markets along this stretch of US-41 north of Vincennes, so bring some shopping bags and make a day of it.
