Midwest Living Review
Thomas Family Winery offers complimentary tastings in a pre-Civil War livery stable. Start with Gale's Hard Cider ($6.99 per bottle), an homage to owner and winemaker Steve Thomas' grandfather Gale Thomas, a central Indiana cider maker. A richly colored Moscato and Barbera grape blend, Rosato 2010 ($14.99), is great as you enjoy the table games or reading material lining the bookshelves, not to mention the Capriole Farmstead goat cheese, savory salami and Thomas' own Gale's Hard Cider Cheddar. And then when the live music begins on most Saturday evenings -- Celtic, bluegrass, Americana -- an "intense" Sauvignon Blanc 2010 ($16.99) might be just the thing to fuel your tapping toes. A new tasting garden outside will spread the fun in good weather.
