Midwest Living Review

This urban park combines endless family activities with unique green spaces.

This urban park combines green space with activities for the entire family. It is home to the Indianapolis Zoo, White River Garden, Indiana State Museum, IMAX Theater, Eiteljorg Museum of American Indians and Western Art, Indiana Historical Societ, NCAA Hall of Champions, Victory Field and the Congressional Medal of Honor Memorial. The park itself is a unique, urban green space that features its own canal, waterfall, a terraced lawn designed for outdoor concerts and sculptures and the White River running through it. The vast park also provides plenty of walking and biking trails, making it a hot spot for Indianapolis folks wanting to get their daily dose of exercise and sunshine. Like many city parks, it is well-used and well-kept, making it a nice stop for a picnic or other family-friendly event, but you might want to find a smaller park if you're looking for privacy or a chance to get away from it all. The park is free but there is admission to certain items
