Midwest Living Review
It is immediately apparent that the staff and volunteers of Benjamin Harrison's home are passionate about two things--history and the former president. The guides here are fiercely proud of the Harrison family, the home and Indiana's place in history. President Harrison was the second president from Indiana, the first being his grandfather, William Henry Harrison. Unlike other historic homes, this privately owned home gives visitors a lot of freedom. Nothing is roped off, allowing you to walk on the carpet, play the gramophone and peer at photos up close. The only thing they ask is that you don't take flash photos or sit on the furniture, which actually belonged to the Harrisons. In addition to the tour, consider checking out the Victorian plays in the parlor, special events on Election Nights and a semi-annual progressive dinner with other spots on Delaware Street. If you visit, plan to stay an hour. Admission charged.
