Midwest Living Review
This museum is designed to bring the out jock in you and your family. Soaring ceilings, waving flags, and majestic red bricks provide a grand entrance that makes you feel a bit like a superstar just walking in the door. Once inside, kids can check-out mascot play stands allowing them to mix and match Bucky the Badger's head with, say, Herky the Hawkeye's body and the Fighting Irish mascot's feet. (In addition to being fun for kids, we can imagine some old college rivals enjoying this.) The interactivity continues with a hands-on feature for each major sport. For example, a basketball exhibit shows the difference between a women's ball and a men's ball. The upstairs allows you to test your athletic talent. Options include shooting free throws, clocking your pitching speed, and using a downhill-skiing simulator. Given the limited access to these items, you might want to consider a visit during the week. Also on this floor, watch some great plays in history and determine whether the ref made the right call. For those really invested in college sports, plan to spend about two hours. Admission charged.
