Meridian Street

Those looking for an afternoon stroll while in Indianapolis will want to consider a walk north of town on Meridian Street. A good starting point is The Children Museum. A 3-mile stretch, ending in the Broad Ripple neighborhood, highlights some of the town's finest show homes. In addition to impeccable architecture, the grounds surrounding these stately homes provide some great scenery. If you'd like to stroll through the homes, consider visiting during the annual Showhome Tour in June. The event, sponsored by the Meridian-Kessler Neighborhood Association, is a massive fundraiser and showcases the best of the best in this upscale, vintage neighborhood.
