French Lick Springs Hotel

Walk into the ornate lobby of this century-old hotel and be wowed by the Vegas-like spectacle: gold paintings on the ceilings, marble columns and tile mosaics on the floors. Established in 1845 to accommodate people coming to indulge in the nearby sulfur springs, the hotel's east wing was built in 1901. Limestone from the original hotel can be seen in a hallway between the hotel and bowling alley. The decor might impress, but it is the family friendly activities that draw. A casino is at the other end of the hotel.
