Parkview Field

One of the newest attractions in Fort Wayne is Parkview Field, a Single-A baseball stadium that opened downtown in 2009 for the Fort Wayne Tin Caps. The park, which keeps its gates unlocked 24/7 and is open to the public, is airy, clean and spacious, with fountains on the public square-like area when you first walk in. Each outfield also has a grassy area where patrons can spread out picnic blankets for the price of a $5 ticket. The park has a ticketed seating area with metal tables and chairs and tableside service. Reserved seating tickets run $8 to $12.50, and the park holds 8,100 fans. Parking costs $4. If games aren't being played, the park is free to enter. Dining options go above and beyond standard hot dogs and Cracker Jack. A diverse roster of vendors accounts for an eclectic mix of cuisines including barbecue, brats, wraps and Mexican food. Many dishes are whipped up on-site using wholesome fresh ingredients. And with import beers, martinis and microbrews on the menu, Tin Caps games make a unique setting for a fun happy hour with friends. The park also provides a picturesque backdrop for concerts, festivals and other outdoor events throughout the summer.
