Midwest Living Review
The past is full of secrets and surprises, especially at a small-town Indiana storefront called Step Back in Time. Crammed floor to ceiling with antiques, vintage knickknacks and modern gifts with a long-ago flavor, this shop in Edinburgh’s somewhat distressed downtown district has much to offer.
This intriguing nearly-two-decade-old business blurs the line between antiques shop and historical museum with items like a yellowed gown from a 1918 high school graduation, tea sets, silver services, ivory personal grooming implements and old, old magazines. Way in the back, you'll find a tiny tearoom with barely enough space for a 10-person local friendship club to squeeze in. We didn’t try the tea, but the vegetable soup was as savory and stuffed with good things—just like the shop.
