That Sandwich Place is a Brown County must-stop for Indiana University alumni and Bob Knight fans.

Back in the early 1970s, Nashville, Indiana, restaurant owner Larry Hawkins forged a friendship with newly hired Indiana University basketball coach Bob Knight. As Knight's career gained notoriety, Hawkins collected any and all memorabilia he could get his hands on. Today, Hawkin's lunch-only eatery That Sandwich Place offers a nostalgic trip down memory lane for IU alumni (the school is 15 miles away in Bloomington). Every square inch of the place is red, white and dripping with posters, newspaper clippings, photos, autographs, programs, and banners commemorating Bob Knight and IU basketball. The restaurant is in a basement down a short flight of stairs off the main Nashville intersection. The kitschy decor makes the small, slightly dark digs feel a little claustrophobic, but the crowds who flock here don't seem to mind. The menu isn't big either -- nine sandwiches including a hot dog platter, burger, chicken and a triple-decker baloney and cheese; a small breakfast menu; and something called a high-calorie salad. This is not low-fat food, but most Hoosiers will find it familiar. Deviled eggs, fries and coleslaw sum up the side options. The Piggy Wiggy tenderloin platter ($7.95) was just a prefab patty on a white bun, but the accompanying fries were good and the coleslaw sweet, tangy and cold. This isn't the kind of restaurant you frequent for the food; you come for the overall experience, and to say you've been.
