Midwest Living Review
When you spot the little log-cabin bakery at Apple Hill Orchard, you know you've found something special. Perched on a hilltop and surrounded by apple and peach trees, the bakery offers a delicious selection of fruit pies and tarts, often made with the orchard's own produce. The treats are made fresh daily by the owner's mom, Mary Campbell, and she might be pulling a warm batch out of the oven just as you arrive. The pie is delicious, but it's not the only reason to come here. The orchard has been in business since 2003, but already, its apple cider has been recognized as the best in the state. Buy the cider and a limited selection of produce in the bakery, or grab a basket and head out to the orchard to pick your own apples, peaches and nectarines. Apple Hill Orchard is open seasonally from July to December; call or check the website for hours and information about which fruits are ready to pick.
